Children Provide Brain Munchies

You don't have to be a parent very long to figure out that providing brain munchies for adults is one of the things children do best. For example, at a local elementary school, a bulletin board displayed one classroom’s punch lines to common sayings that are unfamiliar to children. Here are a few;

The pen is mightier than . . . the eraser.

It’s always darkest before . . . bedtime.

In every cloud, there’s a . . . bunch of raindrops.

You can lead a horse to water, but . . . don’t get behind it.

Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and . . . you get a runny nose.

Happy the bride that . . . gets the cake.

Never underestimate the power of . . . school.

There’s no business like . . . McDonald’s.

Money is the root of . . . buying.

If you lie down with the dogs . . . they will probably get up and run away.

A penny saved is . . . not a lot.

Children are to be seen and not . . . hurt.

A bird in the hand is worth . . . buying a cage.

The grass is always greener on the other side of . . . a fire hydrant.

And, my personal favorite;

Don’t bite the hand that . . . . belongs to your mom.
